2024 Season's Gallery

Finals Weekend 7th and 8th September

A new member of the club once asked, "What happens if it rains?"

The answer. "We play, unless it's really heavy."

And so it was this weekend. two days of showers, but our finalists still played, and the spectators turned out to watch from the shelter of two large gazebos.  Thanks everyone!

Trophies were presented by our club President, Geoff Bishop, with the exception of the Ladies Singles Trophy, which was presented by our Captain, Valerie Barton.

6th July Club Triples
Playing for the Cyril Marchant Trophy

Cyril Marchant  played at Saltdean Bowling Club in the 1970s and 80s.

The Trophy was provided by his family in 1988, in memory of Cyril. They asked that it should be awarded for a Triples competition as that was Cyril's favourite format.

Thanks to Cyril's daughter Audrey who presented the cup this year.

May 4th Charity Day

A great day of bowling, the weather was good, not too much wind and lots of sunshine. Our chosen charity was Brighton RNLI.

RNLI Volunteers ran a stall outside the clubhouse, selling a wide range of goods.

The event was well attended by playing and social members of the club. There was tea and delicious cakes, (many thanks to people who baked) and a raffle. All proceeds were donated to the charity.

And at the end of the afternoon our president presented a cheque for £475.00 to the Manager of Brighton RNLI Station.

Mayor Opens the Rink
